Excursion in Redan, reduced price - for pupils, students, seniors
Redan is part of the Tsarist fortress built at the end of the 19th century. It is a historical site where decisive battles took place in 1919, defending Liepāja against Bermont's troops. Today, Redan has become an important center of history and art.
Museum of Karosta and the War of Independence
Since 2022, a museum has been operating in Redan with several unique exhibitions:
Karosta Timeline: A detailed story about the creation and construction of Karosta from its beginnings to the present day. Most of the exhibits were found right there on the territory of Karosta.
Hall of Fame of the Independence Struggles: A dedication to the 1919 Freedom Struggles and heroes. Costumes of freedom fighters and Bermont's troops, weapon replicas, and household items can be viewed.
Multimedia performance: An artwork about Karosta created by Ritvars Embrekts (created as part of the Karosta Festival 2021).
